Other than brief visits for meals at restaurants in the Ironbound/Down Neck neighborhood, I try to avoid Newark.
Although there are some decent residential areas, the entire city has a high crime rate. In fact, the only time that somebody tried to break into my car was while it was parked in one of the "good" areas.
Was it a nice look car , and not the entire city has high crime...if you look at the Crime maps.... A Blanket statement is a dangerous statement.....
If you want to begin a career in drug dealing or maybe have high inspirations of becoming a gang member, then definitely Newark is for you! You can also polish your carjacking skills there as well as many members of the community are well trained in this area. Newark has tons to offer!
New Yawkers telling New Jerseyites we have bad crime in our cities and saying there city is better is asking for trouble.....come on , so theres no bad areas of Brooklyn? Don't get me started on the Bronx , and parts of Manhattan....
