I need your help. Basically I want to contact the police because this is getting out of hand. We live on a pretty quiet street, and a fews years ago a vacant house that was never purchased or rebuilt was knocked down and made into a two family house. Two families lived there, one very sweet the other ghetto and unwelcoming. The nice family moved, and another family, just like the unwelcoming family moved in, and ever since there has been trouble.

Trouble you ask? Weeknights the kids (teens) have been having there overly sketch friends over, double parking on the street, screaming, drinking, and I have seen them using pot (and probably other drugs) at night. The police have been here a number of times at night because of domestic disturbances. One time, for an hour (without anyone calling probably out of fear) one of the teens was screaming outsides relentlessly for the mother to let him in, cursing, and becoming irate. One time a young man who I believe to be related to them (looked like it) was escorted out by the police. There has never been so much trouble on this block. We live next door and when I leave to wave hi to them, they give me the meanest faces. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the kids were affiliated with a gang or something.

I want to call/write to the police, but do not want the neighbors finding out it was me. Something has to be done, it is getting out of hand and everyone on the block is in fear of saying something to the police because they are scared of them.

PS - right this moment one of the kids is screaming outside at the downstairs neighbors for riding their bike late. It sounds like he is going to kill someone.

How about contacting your city councilman/councilwoman, and inviting him/her over for a look at what is going on?

If the council person agrees with you that this group is a pox on the community, the council person can put pressure on the police chief to keep a more watchful eye on things and to tighten the screws--so to speak--on the miscreants.

Police don't need to know or tell them its you? I'd call them and just have them ride by. It could be a crime scene waiting to happend. But I think if u tell the police to keep it anonymouse, they should. U can ask them if they would do that, that way noone would know who called them. They probably looked mean at u because they suspect u called the police in the past.

Don't contact them personally. Just call the police to sort it out.

Ok I e-mailed the Police Chief an anonymous letter. I really hope this helps, it is well written. I am young and never in a million years would I imagine myself doing this, but I am extremely concerned for my safety.

A suburban town near Hackensack, its not a city but semi-close to one (although on the opposite side of town still).

I would record and e-mail the video(s) to PD. No way they can't act after that.
