I got the number for 2010 census I found this little bit interested.
Newark
Total population 277,140
Black 145,085 52.4
Latino 93,746 33.8
White 72,914 26.3
Other 42,181 15.0
Asian 4,485 1.6
Mixed 10,660 3.8
Native 1,697 0.6
Islander 118 0.0
Biggest increased came from black and latino and mixed should be of black and white or Latino and black. most of the latino their got black dna like Puerto Rican,Dominican and hispanic from central american country. Now black has not declined.

What's your point? You've posted demographic data for various cities in different forums.

Most of the people in Newark classified as "white" are "hispanic white," in other words, not "non-hispanic white."

I've read this line half a dozen times, but I couldn't make any sense of it for the life of me. It's almost like word salad spoken by someone with schizophrenia.

edit: I've read it three more times and now I kinda get it!

Hispanic/Latino and White are seperate categories. Of course, a person could put down whatever they want, so you may have a Latino who considers themselves White, but for the most part, those Whites are "Non-Hispanic White" (basically, of European descent)
