My girlfriend and I are looking to move into the Hoboken area. I will be working in Manhattan, and she will work (drive) into East Hanover. Google Maps says it's approximately 25 miles one-way.
My question is: How is the actual commute? Google Maps recommends going 280--how is this road during rush hour (sounds like it'd be a reverse commute).

Thanks very much!
I did the Hoboken to whippany commute. It wasn't too bad usually abut 45 minutes. 280 is completely unpredictable.
280 is usually bad both ways through Newark since the road narrows to just 2 lanes. Both AM and PM rush hours are affected.
