YouTube - ‪Mayor Cory Booker Announces "Safe Summer" in Newark‬‏

and now its up to Newarkers to step up and make a change.... but make no mistake crime is on the rise.

With articles like this: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/...ds_573220.html it seems like poverty is here to stay for a long long time. I feel especially bad for the police officers as they are going to get really stretched thin and over worked

No pun intended...

Saying Newark is crime-ridden is like saying ice is cold. Like Guiliani & the NYPD magically made the homeless disappear and dropped NYC's crime rate substantially (the one good thing he did), Newark has to round up the riff-raff and gangbangers and evict them permanently. It's the only way

I think overall the New Jersey State Mentality about high crime cities like Newark and Camden is "ignore it and as long as the high crime rate doesn't come into my specific town I could care less about those cities".
