That's why I never liked Lombardi's. Too much sauce. Sounds like you have more experience with New York Pizza than me, but I will always love John's.

I guess we should stick to the topic the OP made--best Pizza's in those counties.

But Cavallo's market in Nutley NJ makes a great pie--their specialty is the sausage pie--but it's in Essex County. Sorry.

Yes, "NJ Italians" are obsessed with putting sausage in everything (although there are surely worst things in life)

For starters -- Pizza Nova in Fort Lee, Tony's in Pompton Lakes, La Bella Roma in Paramus, Kinchley's (thin crust) in Ramsey and Tirreno's in Mahwah (for Sicilian).

Seafood -- Oceanos in Fair Lawn, Taverna Mykynos in Elmwood Park, and Varka in Ramsey.
