I am going to be a MBA student at Seton Hall starting in the fall. I am relocating from the midwest and though I am familiar with NY I am not as familiar with jersey. I am looking for a safe and affordable place to live that ideally has some people my age and is close to public transit. I'm 30 so I don't need the craziness of a hoboken type area. What areas around south orange are ok to live in?
I won't be working full time (GA position and maybe an internship) so my budget is tight.
There's nothing wrong with South Orange itself, either, except the area near the Newark and Irvington border, which includes Seton Hall. West Orange is likely cheaper.
