We're looking for a two-family house in Palisades Park, and we would like to know about the town. Does it have close shopping? How's downtown area? Please include any information about the town.
Thank you.
Palisades Park is a small but densely-populated area. A large town or a small city, depending on your views. There is a busy shopping district on Broad Ave and to a lesser degree on Grand Ave. More Republicans than Democrats according to Wiki above, which is surprising for a decidedly middle-class community.
The Express buses to Manhattan take about 30 minutes and you are only a few minutes from all major NJ Highways, including the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway and Palisade Interstate Parkway in New York.
I find the town more than a bit crowded with people and traffic for my tastes, but that's me... Great Korean restaurants and shops and, of course, the Silver Eagle Diner, Donna's Pizza and Palisades Park Bakery...

I see there are plenty of Koreans. I am European myself. How are housing & lifestyle there? Are there only Korean restaurants & stores or mixed?
Lots of multiple-unit buildings, which lends to the dense population. Some, but not many, non-Korean restaurants, etc., but if you drive, all is within 2-3 miles. Busy, fast-paced. A bit like a very small borough of Manhattan...

Wow, I love NYC.
What I'm concerned & worried about the Koreans behaviour in the town (as I read in previous thread), that they look down on Non-Asians, and double-park, everything Korean, crime etc.

Don't buy in to the hate on some of the NJ threads. Maybe plan an evening or a weekend, if possible, to spend in the area to get a better idea for yourself. That thread you're referring to is crap.
Take a ride through town, I did. And I saw virtually every store was Korean, it had been forever since I had been there I was shocked.
OK, but how are the people living there?
