Hi guys im in the middle of negotiations for an apt in Fort Lee, on Hudson Terrace. It would be my first purchase so i was very exited about it. I havent signed a contract yet but made the offer to purchase...
However now im starting to get pre-buyers remorse...since i didnt go through an agent. Im looking at a one bedroom,co-op, fairly modern and up to date apt. and building. New Kitch new bath. Low maintenance.
My two concerns are- resale value in this area
and transportation- it is appx. 10 city blocks from the GW bridge(too close to drive, which i dont, and too far to walk) and the closest bus line ive seen is 4 blocks away.
I was looking at an apartment in that complex a year ago; I didn't get safe vibes from it (but then, I am a young woman who gets home from work around midnight; your needs may be different).
Instead, I would look at the Mediterranean Towers West building in Fort Lee. The bus to NYC stops right at the back of the building. It's very safe and has a ton of ammenities (including a beautiful Olympic sized pool, exercise room, mini supermarket in the basement).

What would you recommend? is this a good idea?
No, not if the closest bus line is 4 blocks away. This may sound mundane, but when it's crazy cold in January-February, will you really want to walk that much to get to a bus stop every day?
There are many other co-ops in the Fort Lee area that have easier transportation arrangements. They may not be as nice as this one, but it's always give and take.
10 blocks, is that so far? How many miles is that?
