reemployment orientation New jersey (Dover: unemployment, school, business)

hi i received a letter stating i must attend a reemployment orientation, the letter also states that it is a 3 hour class!!, i have also had to go to the first orientation that was like 18min, and that was only like 2weeks ago, i have only been on unemployment for like a month and was wondering what to expect and what the class is about?,
also anybody know how people are selected for the orientations? there were 3 people from my place only 4employees all together that were let go and all 3 of us have applied but i am the only one that has received any orientation requirements?

My experience has been that everyone has to go to them. The last one I went to was in Dover and was not bad at all. The guy was really nice. It's just a reemployment meeting, going over your options and stuff. He covers if you want help starting your own business, or if you want to attend school or job training. I don't think I was there more than an hour.

Maybe the other people you worked with didn't get their letters yet. Or if the people you worked with were only there less than a year, they may still have an UE claim open, therefore they have already been through the reemployment orientation.

I did not go and they stopped my payments. It's a random selection. And - be prepared - it is 3 1/2 hours. Just go thru the motions - by go. If you can't make it - send an email. Don't call. No one answers the phone there.

I had only been on unemployment for a month also before received second notice for the training you are referencing.
