I'm I the only one who is late a lot because of the turnpike? I live in SJ and it never fails, from 6 on up to 9 exit its almost crowded with slow traffic, and most times its not even due to construction. What's the point of paying toll to be late for work? Isn't the tolls supposed to make the tk more efficient? Why am I being charged to be late for work? I always leave early too,and its not even at rush hour, like 10pm at night and 2pm.
How do people actually arrive at work on time,or for that matter, keep a dam job taking the turnpike?
Well you do have a beef of sorts, but it's 99.9% frustration and not much of anything is going to change anytime soon.
I would say your beef is with whomever blocked I-95 from being built in NJ, but in reality there are no plans anywhere to build anything other than the widening of the TurnPike presently going on, which is needed now because NJ never built the main parts of I-95, and a lot of that was because we had this money grubbing toll road already there before the Interstate hwy system came along.
For anyone who's confused, there is a page online that gives the history, but now that it's done and this greedy state will never find the $$ to do it right, all it is is history.
I'm confused. The turnpike and I 95 aren't the same highway?
And it seems they have been widening turnpike south a long time.
Yes, the turnpike and 95 are the same. (There's I 95 and 195, different roads.)
Take rt. 130 North to the end and pick up rt. 1 North to Edison. It's about 43.5 miles. Google shows travel time to be 58 minutes, but I would add time for work traffic.
Why don't you take the Riverline from Burlington to Trenton , Trenton to Edison?
