Hi everyone I have actually found a few threads with the same alarming issue and noticed, that as of now, the best bet to get things rolling (dollars to my bank account that is) is to contact the local unemployment office directly (walk in), or contact the state congressman, eh? Just wanted to make sure i understand it correctly I was on the phone for DAYS, trying to get through to all the 5 contact #'s i found, to no avail. The best thing i get there is: "Due to the high number of calls we cannt process your call at this time"
And the reason for money not being paid is (as far as i could find out so far) that cause i hit a year long claim, and need to kind of make an ajustment of this existing claim, without making a new one, correct? Thanks

Keep calling! I got screwed out of a week's benefits because I could not prove I was calling and trying to get through! I had it all documented - everytime I called, but because I could not produce a detailed phone bill (thanks Verizon!), I got screwed out of it. They only start your claim from the day you call and talk to them.

hi, this is my first time posting. i am a nervous wreck. i just recertified in may, and actually qualified for a new claim with higher weekly benefit amount which was a nice surprise. so i claimed the last three sundays no problem online. this morning (Sunday), i claimed again online but this time i got a message stating
"Your claim for unemployment insurance benefits has been received. Your claim is not payable at this time. Please call on your scheduled date/or file an appeal...something like that. it showed my claim balance the same, but no payment being made...never saw this.

***could i have by mistake answered a question incorrectly on the claim such as checking off the wrong box and saying i didnt look for work or wasnt able to etc etc? or is it something more serious?***

im in nj and would SOOO appreciate even a small response/idea so i can possibly sleep a little tonight? (single mom going through divorce/laid off from Big Bank and have interviews coming up but no support no $$ right now!)

The reason you can't get through on the phone is because the workers at unemployment have been busy giving the inmates in jail 23 million dollars. So the people that qualify for it have a hard time getting someone to answer the phone.

You're supposed to claim every other Sunday - not every Sunday. That's probably what happened.
