Ok here is my question. I filed for NJ unemployment on December 6 2010 and received a 21 week claim with a mere $225 a week. I have since moved to tier 1 of EUC benefits. EUC tier 1 is either 20 additional weeks or 80% of your original claim whichever is less. My original claim was for $4725.00 and my tier 1 claim was 80% of that amount which is $3780.00 My weekly benefit amount remains $225. Ok now when I divide the $3780 by $225 I get 16.8 weeks. So I have claimed 16 weeks on tier 1, but .8 weeks still remain ($180) in the EUC maximum benefit amount. So what do I have to do, do I have to claim in a week, two weeks, or do I just automatically move to tier 2? I cannot figure this out and I cannot get through on the phone to a call center, they do not mail stubs, and my internet account is locked, they sent a temporary password and it just didn't work to make a long story short. I know theres a lot of numbers in this question but if somone could please shed light on this I would be so relieved. My 16 weeks on tier 1 took me to August 13, and August 20th 2011. I just claimed on Monday and will receive my payment tommorrow, but I still have $180 left in the EUC maximum amount which is less than a weeks worth of money what do I have to do, if anything to receive this or move to tier 2 which I am definetely eligible for?
