Obviously felt it at my office in Maple Shade. I'm on the second floor (2-story total) of an old masonry building. I was typing a report and felt a sway. I thought for a second I was dizzy or blacking out. It then happened again and I turned to look at the guy in the office across from me and my chair started swaying back and forth. The alarms went off and we all evacuated. No damage, just some frazzled nerves.

Cell phones were down for a while, but texts seemed to get through. My wife finally got back to me in an email as she couldn't get through on the house line or cell to let me know they were OK.

She was at our house in Logan Twp. and she said some water spilled out of the fish tank, some toys fell off the shelves in the playroom, some candles feel out of the candleabras and the couch she was sitting on in the living room moved across the floor. Other than a little mess, they were all OK.

For whatever reason our phone line (Comcast VOIP) was down as were the cell voice calls, but she had internet access and could send/receive texts.

Very true. Us Californians wouldn't even look up from what we were doing for anything less than a 6. I still remember a quake in the 5+ range in Malibu, and we were 40 miles away in Pasadena watching the Rose Bowl. The fans looked at one another, the players looked at one another. A second or two later, the game continued without interruption. A comment from the press box later in the game: "BTW, it was an earthquake that you all felt." That's it.

Wow, that's a little rude. Some of us have NEVER had to deal with this type of thing. How are we to know that it wouldn’t get worse? Just because you are a big strong man and nothing scares you that does not mean you should pass judgment on anybody else who was actually scared. Shame on you.

Pretty exciting, yes? We ignored the early warning device, the cat, who made an unusual yowling noise then hunched down and waited for the event. My son said that he happened to be standing on one foot in the shower when it hit, fell and smacked his head on the tile wall.

I lived through some huge damage in the 94 Northridge quake and this was an unpleasant reminder even though it was very small. I was in my office in Cranford, the chair started rocking and I said "we just had an earthquake". Everybody laughed at me.
