It shifted east again , now NENJ will get Tropical storm force winds , but East of NYC will get blasted.... If it shifts east one more time then North and Central NJ will get winds between 20-40mph....
on the National Weather service , it shifted eastward....but the Jersey Shore will still be impacted...
I read the same things. Sad to say if this thing ends up being a dud people wont ever believe the reports the next time a "big" one is lined up and ready to hit us. So its almost as if this better live up to the predictions because you want people to actually believe what the experts say.
the same people that complain about people "overreacting" to the storm are the same people who complain if the state/county/city wasn't prepared.
i dont think this is an accurate statement at all. its funny how you can make this claim without any real basis in fact, only your desire to connect the two.
but also, those two arent related. its one thing for the responsible parties to be prepared and its another for people to say that everyone is going crazy when it will probably be nothing major. i do think the evacuations in nyc is a very bad idea at this point. they are sending various groups of people to high schools and other places. these people would be perfectly safe in their apartment buildings but now they are going to spend a few days in high schools.

The Problem is that the Agencies are fighting over where its going , East , west ? It will be a Tropical Storm when it hits NYC Metro and even Cape May , but if it goes East some more like the local stations say is more likely NYC will be spared the worst in the wind dept. Rain is a different story...
Lock up tight & go to Pitman. There'll be plenty of storm there, but without the ocean trying to get up close & personal. Fill up when you hit Pitman. My sister's lived there for over 30 years. Atlantic Electric is the provider & there are a lot of outages even in good weather. I always feel bad for people when they are evacuated from a nursing home.
I made it fine, only a 5 minute wait for gas in Millville! It was more traffic than usual, but more like normal Friday night heading to the shore traffic than evacuation traffic. Thanks, guys!
southbound south of 98 only leads to towns that are mostly evacuating. it's logical. this way, they know no one is coming that they have to be concerned about.
I had to have work done on my car today. My mechanics were not happy about this, because they live in Toms River and HAVE to go down past 98 to get home.
