I'll soon be working in NYC - 23rd st and commuting from Monmouth county. I'm a little overwhelmed at trying to figure out the best way in. Any advice? What I've seen so far besides the long ride on the NJ Coast train to Penn is Cheesequake or PNC Academy Bus or the Ferry?

Where in Monmouth County are you coming from?

I work on 23rd and take the NJ Coast Line train from Little Silver to Hob, then take PATH in.

Thanks! I'm coming from Belmar. How long does it take to get from Little Silver to Hoboken?

An hour and 20 minutes. One of my coworkers commutes from Belmar (to 23rd/Madison). He says it's 2-1/2 hours each way.

The train option from Belmar to NYC is not survivable as an everyday commute IMHO. The bus from Monmouth Service Area on Parkway or the PNC Bank Arts Center, which entails a drive, will save you well over an hour or more per day. good luck!

Thanks Capo. I tried the bus from Monmouth this past week. That's totally the way to go. It's considerably shorter and a quiet, civilized ride in.
