Hi. How long is Hazlet or Middletown commute by train to Midtown NYC?

I'm hearing it's 2 hours from Middletown? I find that hard to believe and sure hope not. My fiancee works in Midtown and we plan on moving to Hazlet or Middletown.

Same question by Bus too please. Thanks in advance!!!

Its the same for both , the North Jersey Coast line is slow , there is a bus which is slightly faster....but only by 15mins.

No, it's not two hours. Look at the schedule for the North Jersey Coast Line on the NJ Transit website. About an hour and 20 minutes, tops. Middletown is one stop further than Hazlet, that's all. During rush hour there are trains that are express/do not stop in every town.

For Hazlet to NY Penn Station - it'd be about an hour, hour and 20 minutes at rush hour.

Academy bus from Hazlet is under an hour and a half. If you look at their schedule online the times are accurate. The link for the schedule is below. The stops for Hazlet would be from Laurel and 36 to Airport Plaza. My best advice for wherever you live and however you commute is live in walking distance to the bus or the train. It will save time and aggravation.

Thank you all for the replies. So, looks like 1 1/2 hours or less for either Hazlet or Middletown which is doable. That's good news

Unless the person lives right next to the train station and works in Penn Station, the total commute is longer than just the train ride. Between driving to the train and parking and then getting to your office in New York either by subway or foot, you could be easily looking at another half hour.

A commute from Hazlet or Middletown to Manhattan is long and arduous no matter how some might try to spin it.
