what kind of advice? my first thought was i wouldn't move there when you have better places in that area.

-budget?
-are schools a concern?
-are you concerned about commute?

In regards to commute, would like to keep this an hour or under while maintaining a reasonable commute to Manhattan. We have looked within Union County, but have not been able to find a quality home within our budget of $350K - $400K. This led us to a search within Morris County. We do not plan on having Kids for the next 5-years.

Any other area suggestions?

Your commute wouldn't be too bad your wife could take Sussex Turnpike straight into Morristown.
Budd lake in some areas is a bit crowded. Perhaps you might like Mt. Olive.
The ride to Morristown is about 45min. or less. ( husband took that route for 25 years)
Mt. Olive might give you more property and there should be some in your price range there.
I'm not sure what the ride to New Brunswick would be. I'd try that route and see. There is also lots of great shopping in the Trade Zone area now.
Also, you can place a shopping order at Shop Rite out on 206 ON-Line.......then just go pick up your order for a ten dollar charge, no tipping allowed. Great service for the working family.
