I put in a claim with my insurance company, also one with FEMA. FEMA came out after ServPro cleaned the basement, disgarded everything including the Washer and Dryer, doors and door jams, wall to wall carpet and cut out 1ft of drywall from the full 440 sq ft of basement. FEMA denied me by saying there was not enough damage.

i just dont understand the whole concept of finishing a basement if you dont need to. if you already have a living room and enough bedrooms why do this?

Yes, they scrubbed down the walls and the framing that was exposed.

Do you have kids? You can never have too much finished square footage or too many places to hide
