That's tight. I was going to suggest West Paterson (Woodland Park now) where I used to live--in the Westmount Village apartments up on the mountain. It wasn't bad when I lived there, but I moved in 1996.

I looked up the website and the reviews of the place are awful. It sounds as if they went downhill.

Too bad--it was a decent place, with a pool, and a nice mix of people.

Look in Rockland County NY, with Nyack fitting what you are looking for. It might be too far out though. South and Central Nyack would work probably better, as Nyack is a more urban like community.

Thanks, but I'm not to fond of West Paterson. Even with the name change, the town is too trashy for me. I had a bad experience with a cop there once and I hate even passing through there now. I guess I am slightly picky, but I know I can find the right place if I just keep looking.

Also, thanks for turning me onto apartment reviews, this is gonna be really helpful in my search. I can't believe how bad that westmount is. wow.

Try Union City, West New York, North Bergen area in Hudson County. Plenty of Hispanics, plenty of whites and a good amt. of blacks. Nice area and I think a 1 bdrm could be had for less than 1k a block away from Blvd East. I paid $1500 for 2 bdrm on Blvd. East. Quick jump on bus to NYC thru Lincoln Tunnel.
