I am looking to buy a home in New Jersey. My mom is moving from India shall live with me and she cannot speak English, so I am looking for a home in Jersey with a reasonable indian population near Newark, as I work here, and as per my job I need to stay close not more than 20-25 minutes from the Newark.

I will really appreciate if you can recommend any places.
Thanks guys..

Will help if you provide bit more info. Like how much is your budget, 20-25m commute to Newark is door to door or just commute itself, does having a good public education matter, etc.

If only commute distance and being by indian community is concern, Jersey City (JC) has little india and pretty healthy amount of Indians. I don't know much about rails but pretty sure there is way to get from JC to Newark by train.

Please note though, public education in Jersey City frankly sucks and some from more suburban or peaceful countries will view little india area (journal square) 'dangerous'. However if you lived in urban environment, journal square is perfectly fine in my opinion.

A good school system is a plus. I am ok with a townhome/condo. 3 BR.Ready for about 400K. I cannot commute by rail as sometimes its unpredictable,ITs door to door
Thanks

The Iselin section of Woodbridge Twp is known locally here as "Little India". Many of the surrounding towns also have significant Indian populations at this point and the schools in most of them are very good. It is about 30 miles south of Newark I would say, with easy access to both the Turnpike and Parkway. I would say start in Iselin/Woodbridge, then work your way outward if you do not see anything to your liking.

I'm no expert but it'll be tough to get what you want with your budget and door to door travel requirement.

As for towns you listed like Montclair, I don't think you can do 20-25m door to door commute from Montclair to Newark unless you live right by garden state parkway and office is right off the garden state parkway.

Best and usually only part of orange people recommend is South Orange so may want to reconsider West or look into West orange further to see if that's area you'd comfortable with.

Good luck.
