HI, I have a 10-y-old son with autism, and am planning to relocate to NJ (central). Could you please suggest some good schools for him?

I cannot sing high enough praise for the Children's Center of Monmouth County, in Neptune NJ. They are absolutely wonderful, my son thrived in his years there.

If you're moving up north, Bergen County Special Services has an amazing program. It's not just limited to Bergen County residents. Please feel free to message me for more details.

I'd also recommend you check out the Douglass Development Disabilities Center at Rutgers. It is one of the oldest centers committed to support of the autistic and their families. Their website is: Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center

New Beginnings in Fairfield is supposed to be very good.
Gramon Schools - New Beginnings - Fairfield, New Jersey

Also, just in general, SPAN is an excellent resourse for keeping parents aware of their rights in special education:

They also offer advocacy at IEP Meetings.

Default any thoughts about Princeton (PCDI) or Edison school districts?

Any comments on Princeton or Edison schools. I have heard that PCDI and Eden Institute are good.

It depends on what your child needs -- are you looking for a self contained private school for children with Autism or a public school program? Is your son mainstreamed -- if so, how much and for what? Does your son receive ABA currently?

Default Re: Princeton

Currently, my son is in a private ABA center-based program with 1 on 1 instruction. He gets 40 hr per week of ABA.He is doing well. Noticed a lot of improvement with ABA. Unfortunately, Texas mandate for coverage of ABA ends when child completes 9 years of age. Hence looking to relocate. I have heard Princeton has a good program and also programs for adults on the spectrum too.
