if this were true, then why is it a fact that government subsidized a far larger % of college education in the 70s and 80s than they do now? shouldn't costs hav not gone up so much then?

OK, so let me get this straight, this started off initially as a movement against Wall St. then the Democrats, the Unions and the Democrat base got involved, and the initial message now has to share a platform with all these other gripes, and no doubt there were more gripes, and protesters as we see tried to storm The Smithsonian. Talk about hijacking a message, and this is going to resonate with the American people how?

see, you still don't get it. it didn't "start off as a movement against Wall St.", it started off as a group of people who collectively got together as frustrated americans. they weren't all frustrated about the same issues, but were frustrated that the national debate is controlled by corporate money. that means that corporate money has helped shape nuclear policy, pollution, war, etc. maybe the arguments aren't all 100% solid, but the point is that they want less corruption from large corporations influencing policy.

My car must be broken. It hasn't killed anyone yet. Unless you count a goose.

Can't rat out family members. That would lead to an unpleasant holiday season. But it's happening, and it's widespread.

Good, so do I. So let's downsize government to the point where PACs have nothing to spend money on. In the process of taking care of that, we can also cut all taxes by about 80%, returning the money to its rightful owners - those who produced it.

This brings up a good point. Why on Earth is government providing adults with money to complete their college education? College should be an entirely individual and personal expense. It seems irrational and immoral to remove money from one person and give it to another so that he may attend college. In fact, it is downright evil.

Sort of sounds Socialist, don't you think?
