Hi,

I am moving to NJ from AZ. I am looking for nice, safe and quiet apartment community to live in and around Berkeley Heights. I would prefer any good apartments in Berkeley Heights town as my job location is same.

I have a car however would not like to drive more than 5 to 8 miles one way as I assume it will get crazy for me driving in winters for first time. I will be moving along with my spouse and infant and do not have preference to any schools etc yet.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions / feedback.

what's your budget? BH itself is a nice town with top school. If you can afford to live in BH, then it will be perfect choice for you and family.

I live in BH, but we own the house so that I am not familiar with the rental market in town. I know there is one next to supermarket and train station and it seems fitting you budget. Location wise, it's pretty convenient. That's all I can tell.

Thanks, I checked that already and it is not available till year end. Do you have any other suggestion for closest townships. I have explored Edison and not looking for any apartments in same area.

You could try New Providence, which is right next door to BH. Not that many apartment complexes, but I did see this one after a a quick google search, http://www.apartments.com/summary.aspx?page=summary&property=161206.10&Searc hCriteria=H-|w2lH%2foMWPdhVYl6Sdbs65xPPd8lYhYythmyxTD0mOaUGuNv 7%2fBs3GyxFtFXoBb2wt-|dOGlSHxo3BRRDDvIzxRbGFY%2fsE8xS1%2fEYnsFUcQ8fLEo8 N03uvqkVyry6hq6d3e3hriGc1gm4z7OMAfCeweYlUBduvH0nPS cDKJu7WyMyPU8xOtpOA%3d%3d&prvpg=1067&sid=9743419b-b69f-4b12-a735-7d07bacba6eb&productId=P&Hidebackresults=T&pdrivei t=0&pdrivefrm=1#MenuItem

It is close and within your price range. You will find more apartments in Chatham and Summit, although those are slightly farther away, (though still under 10 miles depending on which part of town the apt is located)

Springfield is also a possibility, though I have heard that the rental apts are not as safe as those towns previously mentioned. (though Springfield is certainly not a dangerous place to live, there is more crime there than BH, Summit, or Chatham)

There are several condos in Chatham, also I believe an apartment complex. You could look into them; your budget would in most cases cover a one bedroom at a minimum. The condos are lovely, quite and safe. Summit has some apartment buildings and is really only a few miles down the road from BH.

As far as snow, the roads are cleared down to the blacktop very quickly in NJ...they are used to snow.
