This coming summer I am looking to move to NJ but need to work in NYC. So I am looking for the best area that is close to NYC. My salary is around 120k and I am looking for a mostly Italian area. I have no children but need to be a family area because I will have my parents living with me. Also, looking for a gated community.

A quarter of a million people who live in NJ commute to NYC for work. There is no single best area that works for everyone.

Please provide the responses to the questions in the Sticky at the top of the page, and then people will give you suggestions.
