Increase flow of traffic and avoid introducing those areas where some idiot cuts over 4 lanes at the toll both because they didn't plan ahead.

Establish a program for those that are passing through to have a temporary EZ-pass tag.

There are many facilities in life that require some sort of membership. Just like no one is forcing you to use said membership only facilities, no one is forcing you to use the garden state parkway.
That's not a bad idea but will be a problem for out of town travelers. You could probably sell disposable tags or something at the rest stops/supermarkets, etc but it would still cause problems. It used to be free - that $1/mo surcharge is ridiculous. We're saving them a ton of money by not requiring manpower at the toll booths.

My question is what happens when the exact change lanes don't register the money you put in which happens quite often? Maybe they need to spend the people's money and have all toll booths manned. They are trying to force everyone to get E-ZPASS?
The toll collectors put their life on the line for you and me, they have to get paid. $50 fine seem like a bargain.
