Is Westfield, NJ prone to flooding?

If so, is the flooding risk in Westfield comparable to that in Cranford, NJ?

Both towns have areas which are prone to flooding.

There are many more areas in Cranford that are prone to flooding, mainly due to the Rahway River which runs through town. Overall, Westfield doesn't have anywhere near the same propensity to flood.

Basement seepage does occur in Westfield, but probably not any more so then any other town in Central/Northern NJ with older homes.

Westfield homes can be "wet" but not nearly as bad as Cranford where so much of the town is in "a flood zone". People love living in Cranford regardless of the floods they experience every few years. Good luck!

In the hurricane that hit last year, Cranford was severely effected particularly those close to the Rahway River. Although not completely unscathed, Westfield in general faired much better. Within our own home, our sump pump was able to handle the storm and we had no issues of flooding, which we felt so grateful since we have a finished basement (this is in the North Side of town).
