i know numerous people who have done this. i just went through it a few weeks ago for improper passing, but took 2 points and lesser fine, since i don't really care about the points. but a bunch of people have done this that i know. improper passing is a lesser offense than going 96mph, IMHO, though.

The person is asking a question, not sure what's with the "you deserve this or that" or my "daughter drives...etc"

Speed does not equal reckless.

In regards to getting a lawyer, if you feel comfortable dealing directly w/the prosecutor, then try it yourself. If not, spending a lawyer, may not be a bad idea.

An entire court room got away with one then. I witnessed at least 25 people do the same exact thing that day.

The judge even started the session by giving an explanation of this exact plea so that everyone knew exactly what they were doing.

That kind of speed probably won't be reduced to ZERO points, although you can get it down to 1 or 2 (with a pretty high fine) which would then come off after a year (if you don't get pulled over again.)

From my experience in traffic court, you really don't need a lawyer unless you're dealing with DUI or leaving the scene of an accident. For most speed related offenses, the prosecutor offers the same deal lawyer or no lawyer. If for some reason you go and you feel you're getting screwed you can request a delay so you can get a lawyer then.

That said, slow down. I don't get how anyone can even go 96 on 287.

Seriously? I've seen people driving like idiots. Driving close to 100 MPH on any road is absolutely dumb. You're putting yourself and other people's lives at risk. How hard is this to understand?

Or 105 mph anywhere in the 3-dimensional world where space and time are separate entities.

What are you people trying to do? Go back to the future?
No, you only need to hit 88 to see some serious stuff.

Yes, you should get a lawyer, and you should have him plead an insanity defense for you.

All he has to do is to point out the obvious, namely that you have to be crazy to drive at 105 mph on a public highway.
