This is one of the best things to happen to Hudson County in years. The best part is NO TAX BREAKS. It's a boon to the area, the organization is paying for the public safety aspect of it. They are also going to cut checks to the towns and county. Thats the way to do business.
It might be a lot to go see, Formula 1 is the elite of all international auto racing events. Like someone said before, Formula 1 is a wine and quiche event where NASCAR and Indy is beer and steak.
It will be interesting to see if F1 can draw 50K to a street race in NJ only minutes from NYC.
We know NASCAR can draw 150K to a half mile track in the middle of nowhere in TN. (Bristol for those who don't know)

Not that surprising at all. Bristol is an awesome track and TN is loaded with rednecks. One of the best tracks to watch a race at IMO.

Yup this is a great point...no money (at least from what we've been told) is coming out of the town budgets for this. F1 is doing everything (they definitely have the money). As long as tickets aren't ridiculous for the 2-3 day event it is, I think they can attract a large crowd.

What is your definition of ridiculous? F1 ticket prices do tend to run on the ridiculous side. When I looked into going to the F1 race in Montreal, a 3 day ticket was $350+ for the cheap seats.

Yeah lol I won't be paying that much and I do know they're expensive...its not an apples to apple comparison but I saw tickets in their upcoming event in Abu Dhabi going for over $600 a piece. I can see them being still at least half that here in NJ since they figure NYC is so close and plenty of people with deep pockets there.
I'd pay probably $150-200 for this but likely not...I'll be trying to see how close I can get since I live right in the area and can just walk over Maybe rent out my garage space to someone for $500 for the day lol
I heard on NJ12 that they expect this race to pull in over 100 million dollars for the state. Can we go ahead a sign a long term contract for 20 years or so?
Fantastic news, I will definitely attend.
I want to know How are they going to route the traffic? 100'000 people crowding river road, single file coming in, single file leaving. This has total traffic nightmare written all over it. Spectators will have to either walk down from the cliffs above or come with the boat...
I always thought the meadowlands would be a great location for a F1 event, highways all around it, plenty of unused land
