Schools are good.
A word of caution: There are several towns around Princeton that call themselves princeton or share the same zip code.
Make sure your home comes under the following school districts which are good: Princeton, West Windsor/Plainsboro(north or south), Montgomery
How would you characterize Princeton Regional HS vs West Windsor and Hopewell Valley Central?
I'd say in terms of academics and other factors (excluding sports, there WW-P South would be #1) would be Princeton as a very, very slight favorite over West Windsor (and South a slight favorite over North), and then Hopewell Valley is very good but not at the level of Princeton or WW-P.
Great, thanks! Also, are academics at Princeton HS and middle school over-the-top competitive?
And yes to above, it's SO confusing how all the neighboring towns call themselves Princeton and when you try to do a "search", you get many irrelevant listings in Lawrence, S. Brunswick, Franklin Twp, W. Windsor, ETC.

The post office assigns the name of the town to the mailing address. For example, we're in West Windsor, but this section of the town has a Princeton mailing address.
I find it odd.
The school district depends on the town in which you live. When moving always call the school district before signing a lease to make sure that you're moving into the school district that you want. Don't assume that the mailing address accurately reflects that information.
It's that confusing where I live. One town, 6 or 7 zip codes/town names spanning 3 counties!!!
I feel your pain Tahiti. My little township with a population of a little over 5,000 has 14, (yes 14, it is not a typo) different zip codes, spanning 2 different counties. UPS, Fed Ex, and delivery companies, just love us.....and forget about using gps to find anything around here.
