Why do they put "roadway closed' signs up on the turnpike when it is not closed?

Haha that's a joke people all though not a very funny one, it's sad we will have to pay more to use those roads.

The roadwork might be south of where you are getting off. There is considerable work being done south of exit 8A where they are widening the road and adding extra lane. There are bridges being built/replaced, whole sections of road being refinished and new lanes added. It's a huge project. If you are never in that area you won't see it.

Traffic getting on at 14 might be going all the way to exit 1 so they don't distinguish and just stop everyone.
