Hey all-

My girlfriend and I are looking to live together, but our career location is definitely a puzzle to sort out.

We're trying to figure out what the best middle ground is for her working in Fort Washington, PA, and me in New York City.

We've been looking into the Princeton area, but the lack of parking at Princeton Junction is really making this idea difficult for me to grasp. Are there any other alternatives that you all might suggest?

Thanks!

That's rough no matter how you do it. Best bet would be to find somewhere you can get to Princeton Junction without parking there. Somewhere near Hamilton station would be another option; there's parking there, but it's a longer train trip with fewer expresses.

Yeah, I was thinking about Hamilton train station. It's only a few more miles down 295 for her, and the opportunity for me to actually know I'm getting to work that day. I think it's a fair trade. Not very familiar with apartments in Hamilton's area though (looking at it now)

You may want to look on the PA side of Trenton like Yardley or Newtown or even Langhorne

regardless both commutes will not be great

Definitely Yardley. Equal distance to both. Newtown while a great location, terrible traffic to commute to NYC

How would that commute work from Yardley? I'm not familiar with mass transit from there to NYC. Appreciate the input!

Either driving to Trenton or Hamilton station then a NJT NE Corrider train to either Path or Penn Station in NYC

Either are anywhere from 8-15 minutes away

How could the difference between Newtown and Yardley be so great? They're right next to each other.

And Yardley to Fort Washington is about half the distance as Yardley to NYC.

It is about a 50 minute drive to Ft Washington from there during rush

NYC is about 80-90 minutes with the train

Seems about as halfway as we'll get- I'm the more patient one with travel, anyway.

If anyone has specific Apartment suggestions, that's also appreciated. She gets a realtor with her relocation from her company, but right now she's looking Princeton area.
