I need some information from someone who is familiar with Dish Network. I need to know if you can get the MSG channels and the Yes channel with Dish Network. And if so what package do you need to get in order to get these channels. I will not switch from my current subscriber unless I can get these channels.
Thanks for the information, Dish Network will never get my business without being able to watch the Major New York sport teams. What ever the price you would think they would find a way of getting MSG and YES. I am leaning with switching to DirecTv as long as I can get the right deal.
I have had a very positive experience with DirecTV.
Besides costing less than Comcast, DirecTV's customer service is superior, as are both the audio and video quality.
Who do you use for your Phone and Internet service. Do you have a package through DirecTv for all 3 services? This is what I would like to do if I could get the right package for the right price.
Nothing but trouble with satellite TV. Constant outages, and always a problem with the Super Bowl by some odd happenstance.
If it's cloudy and stormy you are not watching TV reliably. And even in good weather it's not reliable, with constant jitters, dropouts, and artifacts. The biggger your TV, the worse the picture.
I switched to FIOS and have never looked back, with utterly rock solid picture and sound. Also, the picture quality of FIOS is far superior to Optimum, and even further ahead of satellite, which resorts to heavy compression to get the picture to your television.
To me DirecTV or Dish is a non-starter and if it was the only option, I would probably opt for no TV at all.
I haven't had a problem with DirecTV... even when it rains. The only time I have an issue is during a major storm. And that's not saying much because when I had Cablevision I seemed to have issues during a major storm. The only thing with DirecTV is that even though their channels are in HD, they are only 1080i, which is only a step up from 720p. The only stations that get 1080p are the on demand ones. If Comcast or Verizon Fios is in the area then I would say go ahead and give those two a look. If you want satelite though then DirecTV is not a bad choice.
