Hi,
i live in NJ and I want to get a Driving license.

I Took the knowledge test in Aug-2010 and passed. I then got a "permit" that allows me to take the road test.
So i did but failed once.

Now its feb-2012 and i see my "permit" is still valid (according to its expiry in aug-2012, its valid for 2 years)
Question is , that can i go and take another test with this SAME permit?

Or, do i have to take the knowledge test again as a long period has elapsed?

Thanks!

I think as long as you passed the "written" or multiple choice knowledge test, they will not make you take that again. That is easy anyway since there are online study sites where you can take the test over until you pass.

I failed mine as well (darn parallel parking!) but didn't have to take the written test twice...was a long time ago, though.
