I am really counting on your comments. I might want to explore new constructed house in Scotch Plains/ Fanwood area. How much % can a builder go down the market sell price? Is it 5%, 10%, 15%? We almost liked 2-3 houses but dont know what to put in as offer?
We are looking in scotch plains area for new construction and found you can go down about 5% for new construction base price. Builders would prefer to give you more upgrades and keep the baseprice of the house. Keep in mind that if you go down in price, you may sacrifice many things in a house that will cost more in the end. Examples are upgraded appliances, hard wood throughout, recessed lighting throughout, painted walls, crown molding ect.
One more thing . . .As for Westfield, we have been looking there as well. For new construction, they don't budge. Maybe 2%. Their homes sell well in that town.
