Stayed in the city after work for dinner. Now on the 10:38 outta Newark.
The guy in front of me was yelling "FU KAREN" into his phone while some drunk chick with a high voice is screeching up in the handicapped area (double-decker train.). Guy hangs up with Karen and yells "SHUT UP!!!" To the drunk chick, who can't tell who yelled and is now screaming "who told me to shut up???". And now the guy in front of me has called someone named Leslie and is telling her to F off and never speak to him again.

I hate taking non rush trains. Everyone is loud and obnoxious and feels the need to spread out and take up entire 3 seaters and two seaters alone. Conductors are no where to be found. Its a 25% chance i wont even get asked to show my ticket badge on a weekend/late night train.

You only going one stop?
On crowded NJCL trains, I've seen conductors struggle to get through cars to check tickets between NY Penn & Secaucus or Newark, but only a couple of times further south. If no one is standing, I can't ever remember a conductor not coming through a car. Although, I have seen them miss the occasional passenger!

No I ride the NEC, multiple stops, which I assume is even worse than the NJCL.

No way. The train commute is a godsend. I get one hour to nap, read, just RELAX before I get tow work and on my way home. That beats dealing with $4 gas, bumper to bumper traffic, adverse weather conditions, accidents etc.
