Hello everyone. My birthday is approaching and I would like to do what I did last year. Last year, I invited a bunch of friends out and whoever showed up, showed up and whoever did not, did not. We went to TEAK in Hoboken. While I love the venue, it was a bit too far away from home, especially when you have to drive back. This year I was thinking of having it at KIKU or Chakra in Paramus (literally just a couple minutes from me) but I would like the venue where I celebrate this year to be as fun and social as TEAK was last year.

Are there any venues within the Paramus area with the same atmosphere as TEAK in Hoboken has? Are there any better picks than Chakra or Kiku?

Sorry, never heard of TEAK so I don't know what you are looking for.

It would also help if you told us if you are willing to consider reasonably-priced restaurants other than diners.
If you limit yourself to just diners, the possible recommendations will be nowhere near as extensive as they would be if you are willing to consider the whole gamut of eating places.

where did you get diners from? I'm a big fan of Cafe Panache in Ramsey, little bit farther of a drive but a great restaurant with cool atmosphere.

Only in the New Jersey forum is sarcasm this rampant. TDStyles, I appreciate the recommendation, however Panache appears to close quite early on a Saturday. The benefit of venues such as KIKU and Chakra is they stay open well after midnight on weekends.

aha! Blend in Ridgewood would probably be a good choice.

Hahahaha, +100, I was going to say something like "Try the State Line in Mahwah!" but decided to be nice.

Well...diners do usually stay open all night...but seriously, you are looking then for the type of restaurant that also has a lounge that will stay open late?
