Any recs for a nice, fairly reasonable steak in Morris County or surrounding area? Would like to go out next Sat. night (St. Patrick's) for an anniversary dinner, but don't really want to deal with Morristown crowds that night. That means Arthur's is out! Thanks!

I think we're going to go to Steve's Sizzlin' Steaks in Carlstadt. Yeah, a little out of the way, but I haven't been there in many years. Used to love it, hope it's still great.

My uncle always talks about that place. He is a real steak house aficionado and has been to just about every steak house in NNJ and Manhattan, and for whatever reason, he likes Steve's the best. I have never been there. Personally, my favorite is Del Frisco's in the city, but if J&K is out of your budget, I wouldn't recommend it for you.

It's not a place for a romantic or business dinner, but Christian's in Garfield is better than Steve's with many items about half the price of Steve's. Cash only, pick up your meal from the counter when it's ready. It's a great place.
MD, you should try Steve's! I haven't been there in probably 20 yrs., but I can still hear the steaks sizzling on the plate as it comes out. YUM, can't wait!
