Casinos end ACES express train to Atlantic City | NJ.com

Ah , when Casinos try to run a RR it fails....it was too slow , to expensive , had bad connections and took to long... Hopefully NJT restores the Cape May line soon....that wouldn't fail considering how many people go to Cape May and the Wildwoods...

When anyone tries to run a passenger railroad it fails. It's just the casinos weren't willing to keep subsidizing it the way public transit authorities do.

It's a shame, but I'm not surprised. I used ACES a few times on my way to Ocean City. Sure the trip was long and the layover to switch locos took some time, but I still preferred it to driving, especially when traveling alone. My favorite part about it was a sign of its demise--it was never even close to being crowded.
