Which towns in Essex and Bergen (preferably only as far as Fair Lawn and Paramus) have 24/7 bus or rail access from Manhattan so one could get back home at 2-5am?

I know Rutherford to be one with 2-3 buses coming from Rutherford or out of the Port Authority between 2-5am. Only about a 30 min bus ride...probably shorter at those hours.

For Eastern Bergen County buses it's Cliffside Park, Fairview and Fort Lee with the 159, Rutherford with the 190, and Fairview and points directly north towards Englewood, Dumont, etc. with the 166. Nothing further west runs 24/7 out of Manhattan. So you might want to go with Rutherford but look at the schedule already posted.

Rutherford seems like a nice choice. Is there any special reason buses go there 24/7 as opposed to other towns?
How's parking there? Is there street cleaning or any bulsht like that? What would the rent be for a decent 1 bd apt?

Rutherford's a commuter town. Parking is pretty decent, not sure about street cleaning regulations. You could grab a nice apartment near the trains/buses for $1,200.

Look up the NJ transit bus routes for these lines (159, 190, 166).

Does anyone know of a good resources which has which lines run, say, 2 a.m. or later? Would be nice to have a consolidated list rather than having to dig through the various pdfs on njt's website.
