ETA I saw you don't want to drive/park and take the bus, but if it's cost that's informing that preference know that there's loads of free parking at the park-n-rides out here.
It's more that once I get to the city I still have to take NYC subway and coming from Queens where I'm spoiled by the express bus and I don't want a 3-part commute.

Thank you, everyone for all your suggestions!

Besides CL, where else should I be looking for apartments?

I have found some private homes and have appointments tomorrow in Carlstadt and West New York. Any thoughts on these areas? They are both apartments in large 2-family houses.

Ah, well, I sure don't blame you there. I walk from PA to my office, and often say a silent thanks that I don't have to board yet another conveyance.

Good luck in your search!

In the meantime, I am going to check out a rental in a 2-family house in east rutherford. Is there a great divide between Rutherford/East Rutherford? Carlstadt and East Rutherford seem to run close to each other.
