The area is very diverse and you will see non white and people of all ethnicity in the neighborhood. I hope you are not referring to these as "weird".

I agree. I know there were some issues there like 12-14 years ago, but it is very clean and quiet now.
North Brunswick overall is one of the more diverse towns in NJ, both ethnically and socioeconomically, but the schools are good and beyond the area immediately bordering New Brunswick along Livingston Ave, the town is very clean and well kept. It is generally a nice area that has some shanty areas, much like any other town in this area. Never heard anyone who lives here complain about it.
