Between cameras on stoplights, cameras inside and outside buildings, EZ Pass, phone and car GPS systems, following our IP addresses and who knows what else - we are being tracked constantly. I know in some ways these things make us safer but where does it end? When do we all just get microchipped?
Of course the elephant in the room is EZ Pass and its implicit but presently unutilized ability to record your speed over large distances as you pass through the tolls. Can you imagine the revenue implications if we allowed the state to bring that elephant to the Big Tent? And the wreckage to our licenses and insurance rates?
For those who are against red light cameras, I'd be willing to bet that speed cameras are next.
And please don't even start that "you" never go over the speed limit.
i always go over the speed limit. and when i get pulled over i take responsibility and pay my fines. just because i break the law I should get away with it? is that basically what you're saying?

you seem to imply EZ Pass, phones and GPS systems are being foisted on you. Some things you do have a choice to use, correct? If you're so concerned about being followed, take steps to ensure your privacy, like not using this website for instance.

That is when I will choose to say bye bye to EZ Pass and wait in line again

i am strongly against the red light camera. it takes a normal human being more than 4 seconds to stop a car at 65 mph. a person who misses the yellow light by 1/10th of a second is considered the same as someone who misses it on purpose 2 seconds after the light turns red. i bet more than 90% people fall in the first category.
why can't they change the yellow light time to a reasonable limit? maybe 6 or 7 seconds which will give people enough time to see, react and stop at 65 mph.

And where are there stop lights where the speed limit is 65 mph?

Good question!!! 65 would be an interstate, turnpike, parkway...no traffic lights there
