Hi-my daughter and I want to move to New Jersey. My daughter will attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick and I’m working in Manhattan. I am looking for safe quiet area to live in that is also not very far from food stores. Somewhere there is transportation nearby too. I don’t drive is that possible to live in NJ without car?

If you don't drive, New Brunswick might be a great option for you. You can take the train to New York City and she can take the bus to Rutgers campus.

New Brunswick is an option, just be careful about some parts of town...some are sketchy and some are overrun by college students living off campus. (I doubt you really want to live next door to "animal house")
Another option would be Highland Park, just next to NB, it is a bit quietier than NB.
