Never heard the term, lol sorry to laugh, but I grew up in Bergen, not even in the wealthiest area, but I experienced quite a few nasty remarks when I first started college and people asked me where I was from.

my dad used to joke with his sisters who lived in River Edge that they were the "rich snobby ones" because we were Hudson County trash, LOL.

i never heard that term...what kind of nasty remarks did you get?

lol basically that I thought I was rich, or better than people, total opposite, i would bring some friends from school to my house, and they would imply that because I have a front and backyard that I was rich. Just ignorance.

No the saleswoman i heard it from was about another bergen county sales woman

She was from Teaneck, and I think the other woman she was referring is from paramus.

I was wondering what it means. But I have met quite a few girls from Bergen County that can be prisses, especially north of rt 4

When people say the word "priss" they usually mean "moneyed," which automatically means spoiled to some people. I think you'll hear the term "priss" all over the country when addressing someone who is assumed to have money. It's a jealousy thing. (And no, I'm not rich. But this is rather silly--wouldn't you expect more from a grown-up? The salesperson would have gone down a notch in my eyes for that one. )

I think it has something to do with a "specific stereotype" that girls in Bergen County have.

She also said, "She's a Bergen County Girl"

I wonder what that is supposed to mean. I never heard Hudson county girl or passaic county girl.

I have heard "New York Girl", "bronx girl", "California Girl" and that usually is comes with a very specific definition.
