Also I believe you have to take the written test first, which is a multiple choice test you select answers on a computer screen, then you get scheduled for the road test, as far as I know. There are online sites you can practice the written test on.

Yes, absolutely no need for second brake pedal.
And a center console is fine if the parking/emergency brake is accessible from the passenger seat.
mvc guys told give me examinaton list, when i changed my NY learner permit, and she told me that i can come to road test anytime. i pay 10$ fee.
