Hello,

Just wondering about the neighbor separation, or lack of, between houses in Union county's towns with the small lot sizes (0.11, etc).

What is the max height of the fence that can be installed in the front, side and back? Are there any requirements whether they are solid or not?

Can bushes/trees be planted that are higher than the max allowable fence height?

What's the best solution when most of the usable grass is in the front?

It will vary by town. Your best bet is to check the municipal ordinance of the town(s) you are wondering about (many of them are online at the town's website, or otherwise easy to find)--that will give you the info you're looking for. You can also try calling the town's zoning/construction office, but they may or may not know the info offhand, and may tell you to check the ordinance.

This. Every town is different and each property style may have different rules. For example, houses along a main road or corner lots may have different rules then homes on a regular lot on a side street. Setback and orientation of the house on the lot also matters when it comes to putting up a fence. If you have a specific town/house in mind, then check online for the ordinances and then double check with an actual call to confirm.

It depends from town to town, its generally 4 feet. If your house is a corner lot then things change a bit. You can have privacy trees in your backyard and they can be taller. I have 18 ft high privacy trees all around my backyard, but I am not in Union county.
