...in northern NJ?

I keep checking weather.com and rubbing my eyes. It seems like the northeast and southwest are having identical weather right now (except for more rain on the east coast). Totally weird!!! I mean it's almost October...

Even the 10-day forecast, which brings us firmly to the end of the first week of October, is still showing the 70s for the high and the 50s for the low (again...identical to here in SoCal).

So my trip to Bergen County is all set for the 12th...and I'm thinking I won't have to pack "fall" at all!!! What do you all think? Any buzz on whether it's supposed to plunge way down in mid-October or anything? Is anybody still walking around in short sleeves during the day? I know I need to pack us (myself and my son) some long pants and long-sleeved shirts and light jackets...but it seems like I won't have to bring out the big guns like heavier coats, huh?

Had the AC on until some time Friday night when it got cool. Friday during the day was warm but nice, I had on a tshirt. Really hard to tell what the weather will do, I remember one year we had 80 degree weather in October. The last few years, winter hasn't started until it was almost officially over, or we'd have some cold weather, then it would warm. I was saying that NJ was the new CA in 2005.

While I wouldn't pack a winter coat, you should bring a good mixture of clothes. I'm a jeans / T shirt kind of gal, love my flannel shirt, then I have a few heavier ones for this time of the year. Some days a long sleeved T is perfect.

btw, while they've called for rain in South Jersey, we haven't really had much. A few drops came down the other day, not much.

Enjoy your visit.

It was very warm yesteday, but last night I had to wake up and shut the windows (I only have 4 in my little apartment, sorry). The chilly weather reminds me of when I was in college in NEPA. I'm getting excited for the fall.

It's pretty cool this morning; only 66 inside my house. I'd bring layers. We've had the most gorgeous weather for months now, imo.

Thank you! Good deal, I'll bring a mix. I just want to bring as little as possible because I hate to lug around a lot of suitcases, especially while trying to carry a toddler. I'm hoping to get all our stuff in one suitcase. But this gives me some good ideas.

I'm used to the cold evenings and early mornings...here, the temperature between night and day is always fairly significant. It isn't a desert, technically, but it borders one...I think it's called "semi-arid" or something?"...and, for instance, if it's 75 during the day, it will typically be 50 or 55 at night. So I'm good to go on beddie-bye wear.

I am so excited to be going out...I have waited all year for this.

Thanks again.

We are having SPECTACULAR weather. Hope it remains the same for your trip. And can't go wrong with lightweight layers.

Farmers almanac predicting a particularly ugly winter. Loads and loads of snow I am told. It's funny since we bought our snow blower 3 years ago, barely a speck. Always the way, isn't it?

What a pretty picture, Tahiti. I really hope we're lucky enough to settle back in the Northeast again in the near future!
