Wow not going to get into road rage situation over a Mcdonald's bag - but have you ever been behind someone who throws trash out the window?! How lazy can you be? There are trash cans everywhere you look in the state. Wish there was a number to report these people!

People are getting mowed down with high powered weapons, the occasional Mickey Ds bag out the window by a slob doesn't take precedence to the police.

Roll up the window, look at myself in the rear view mirror and give myself a THUMBS UP!

When I was a kid, I threw a tissue out the window of my mother's car. When we came to a stoplight, a hippieesque couple pulled up alongside us. The man screamed at me, "Hey, you just littered! We saw you throw that tissue out of the car!" He then went on and on about the problems of littering. Then, as the light changed and they were driving off, I heard the woman say, "Help keep America cleeaaaannnnn..." Then my mother screamed at me with untamed fury for the rest of the ride home. I learned a big lesson that day.

Of course, that was 30+ years ago. Today, between the increasing violence, aggression, and stupidity among our citizenry, you have a much greater chance of having your head blown off if you were to confront someone about littering from a car today. It would be nice to have police do litter patrols, but, sadly, most towns have bigger problems today.

Instead of getting frustrated or angry why not simply pull over, pick up the trash, and throw it out yourself? We spend so much time complaining about these problems and trying to change people's behavior( which almost anyone will tell you is an exercise in futility) that we forget that solving the problem on our own can be a lot more gratifying and productive.

I'm old enough to remember when Lady Byrd Johnson was the First Lady and her Highway Beautification Act. One part of that campaign was to enourage people not to litter.
