I'm surprised to hear this--we used them, my ILs and several friends have used them, and none of us has a seam in our counters. And we had them do a large, L-shaped countertop. We were told the rule was, as long as they could get it into the house, it could be a single slab.

Based on their online estimate, price seems reasonable, at least much lower than HD.
